We are an appraisal company 1st. We know the importance of service and quality. Kirchmeyer & Associates was founded in 1994 and has since grown to become the largest appraisal firm in New York State with full-time staff appraisers covering the majority of the state. We only do appraisals so we know our business, including all lending regulations and USPAP compliance. Our clients have asked us to manage and track their orders in the Northeast Region of the United States and we have been doing that for over 2 years. In 2001, we began to cover the entire country and have been growing ever since. We offer standard full appraisals and other alternative products such as Automated Valuation Models, Drive-Bys and Quality Control reviews.

What quality and service standards do we adhere to?

Kirchmeyer & Associates works off referrals from national lenders and respected national appraisal directories when selecting appraisers. We screen all appraisers before they can become an approved subcontractor by verifying their state license and E&O Insurance, checking business references, and checking the Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC) of the Appraisal Foundation to make sure that they are in good standing.

Every appraisal is assigned to a Kirchmeyer National approved appraiser within 1 hour of ordering and is tracked on a daily basis by our status department and our website until it is delivered to our client, either electronically or overnight. Quality and turnaround times are tracked and recorded constantly. Poor performing appraisers are quickly and easily removed from our approval list. If we have to ask our appraisers to explain their thought process or point out a missed adjustment, the product is delayed and the cost of doing business increases for both our client and us. The high performing appraisers are rewarded with additional volume and an increased fee split. We pay our subcontractors more than the typical AMC and guarantee payment on their work within 30 days, which allows us to hire and retain the best appraisers in the business.

Thomas Kirchmeyer, SRA is President of Kirchmeyer & Associates and is presently managing Kirchmeyer National. Tom has been appraising since 1986 and has attained the highest and most respected residential appraisal designation available in the industry – the SRA (Senior Residential Appraiser) designation with the Appraisal Institute. This allows Kirchmeyer National to tap into the vast library and resources of the largest appraisal organization in the world. Communication between appraisers is essential in regards to complying with standards and ethics. Questions on ever-changing appraisal issues can be answered within minutes via the Appraisal Institute Forum on the Internet and thousands of appraiser members across the country. Kirchmeyer-trained underwriters review all appraisals. Any important issues regarding repairs and values are addressed throughout the appraisal process. If an appraisal needs to be revised or questions from the lender need addressing, we have our appraisers make the appropriate changes and e-mail the revised appraisal to us ASAP. All appraisals are in digital format and can be sent via e-mail or EDI in the lender-preferred format in a matter of seconds.
